Wild
Christ at Kripalu...
“The small
one builds cages
for everyone they know.
While the sage, who has to duck their
head when the moon is low,
keeps dropping keys all night long
for the beautiful,
rowdy prisoners.”
-Hafiz |
It’s
time for the most popular global religion
to acknowledge that it has become the Prodigal
Son. That it has wondered off into the politics
and madness of humanity and squandered its
creative vitality. Our most awakened spiritual
institutions have avoided workshops that touch
upon Christ’s teachings, because the
heartwood of Christianity has been used to
build cages for centuries.
Join three artists and teachers Paul and Tim
Frantzich and David Hawkinson, as they walk
into the radiant wilderness of Christ using
song, ritual, yoga and story. Open your hearts
and minds as “The Firebird” (a
folktale of Russia) is heard along side sacred
biblical text. Let it speak with a new voice,
free of judgment, free of rhetoric and the
smell of mothballs. This is not your parent’s
religion…it’s your life.
Christianity is asking us to let it rise,
with all great religions, to the high road
of The Heart.
“I have sent forth thy prisoners out
of the pit wherein is no water.” –Christ
Lets drop keys to the rowdy prisoners…all
night long.
Price:
$225.00

David
Hawkinson
“When
Hawk (David Hawkinson) presents sacred text
it may well take on divine form, walk up to
you and kiss you full on the lips or sock you
in the mouth."
–Paul
& Tim Frantzich

David
Hawkinson is a revolutionary teacher who journeys
into sacred text with over three decades of
Midrashic (Rabbinic) interpretation as his guide.
The electricity he carries into his workshops
arcs between—and connects us to—sacred
history and the human heart. An ordained minister
in the Covenant Church, a scholar of Hebrew
and Christian texts, and a Fellow in the American
Association of Pastoral Councilors, David’s
great loves are his family, the creaking of
the rigging, the teachings of Martin Buber,
and the rugged and ever-changing journey of
the soul toward home.
The Brothers Frantzich (fran-zik)
“The
Frantzich Brothers are crammed with spirit;
their music flies everywhere.”
–Robert Bly

Tumbling
pioneers in the revolution of Love, The Brothers
Frantzich hold the true image of brothers in
harmony up to the transcendent image of peaceful
harmony between cultures and religions. The
heart drenched music and style of the Brothers
Frantzich bridges the gap between the thrill
and sensuality of Saturday night and the sacred
musings of Sunday morning. Their audience is
vastly diverse and spans two continents. They
sing in prisons, churches, center ice before
NHL games, clubs and theaters of the mid-west,
and poetry conferences in the woods of Maine
and Minnesota with some of the finest poets
and teachers in the world.

What
Is The Minnesota Men's Wild Christ Conference?
Do you
occasionally feel the desire to shatter all security and
courageously seek a path
more relevant and true to your nature?
Some call it “mid-life crisis”…others
“irrational”…we have a hunch it’s
the sharp elbow
of God Himself...poking you in the ribs…asking you
to step forward and LIVE.
This is the second Wild Christ Men's Conference, so we have
a clear understanding of
the possibilities that come with these events. The 2007
Wild Christ Weekend exceeded our
expectations in many unpredictable ways. Please consider
joining us this season.
Yes, there is a schedule of events…we will arrive
at 7p.m. on Friday...there will be music,
study, food, ceremony and conversation… we will spend
two nights in small cabins with
a fireplace and bunks…and we will leave around noon
on Sunday…but there is absolutely no way
to calculate what will happen. We will spend this time awakening
our sleepy spirits to
the omnipresent and creative nature of God. We will walk
in the woods, we will put down
new roots and take time to build upon our individual purpose
and legacy.
Join us.
Price:
$225.00
Price includes all conference events, meals & shared
cabin for two nights.
Space is limited to 60 men per session.
